Each Sunday morning, the Prayer team invites those who wish to pray before the service to come to the library at 10:30 AM to have a quiet time of praying and preparing your hearts to worship the Lord.

Bake your favorite Christmas cookies for our Cookie Sale on December 17. Package them by the dozen to be sold during our social time.

3rd ANNUAL ANCHOR HOMESCHOOL MAKER’S MARKET  The home school entrepreneurs will feature their handmade items people can purchase for Christmas. December 12 at Minnewashta Church from 4:30 – 7:00 PM

Advent is a joyous season of expectant hope and anticipation as we look to Christmas morning and the birth of our blessed savior, Jesus. The traditional Advent virtues of hope, peace, joy, and love help share the miraculous story of Jesus’ birth and the journey that many took to be there that night. The prophesied arrival of Christ changed the world forever.   Please join us as we share in the beauty of Christmas during Advent Sunday mornings at 10:45 AM.

DECEMBER MISSION OF THE MONTH – Salvation Army
The Sal Army is an international movement, an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Their vision is to be a place where people of all ages live in safe and sustainable communities, in which differences are respected, and people are empowered to learn, work, and worship in freedom.
FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH, MISSION – Benevolence Fund – Benevolence is the desire to help someone or a feeling of goodwill toward others. It can be monetary, to help those in need. Often it is used to aid families with unexpected or high medical expenses, victim of natural disasters, the unemployed, the underemployed and others in similar circumstances. Thank you for your generous gifts.

Meal and a Movie –  Wednesday, Dec 13 – Meal and Movie will meet from Noon-1:30 PM. The movie this week is titled, I Heard the Bells. It’s a heartwarming, true story of Henry Wordsworth Longfellow and his writing of the Christmas carol, “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”. Karen has seen the trailer. It’s really well done. NOTE: A sign up sheet is in the kitchen if you want to bring a meal to share!

BOUNTIFUL BASKET FOOD SHELF The third Sunday of each month we ask members to bring food items to church to help families in need. Your help is greatly appreciated! Current Needs for December –
Cereal * Hearty Soups *Canned Chili * Instant Potatoes & Rice * Ramen Noodles * Pasta & Spaghetti Sauce * Canned Chicken & Tuna * Canned Pineapple & Mandarin Oranges * Cooking Oil * Ketchup & Mustard * Flour & Sugar * Cake Mix & Frosting * Toilet Paper * Diapers (sizes 3, 4, 5 & 6) * Feminine Hygiene Products * Dish & Laundry Soap * Paper & Plastic Bags are always needed.

From the Financial Secretary:
All year-end donations must be postmarked, or physically be at the church by December 31. Any donations, even PRE-dated, cannot be accepted after December 31. If mailed, I would appreciate if checks could be received even BEFORE December 31. If you are having a donation sent from a Financial Institution, be aware that they do not always note the name of the giver. If you have authorized a year end donation, please let me know.
