Memory Verse – 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight . . . I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
We apologize, there was a technical issue. The video was not recorded. We are posting Pastor Grant’s transcript of his Sermon Notes.
How to Fight the Good Fight
How does God want us to fight the good fight?
SUBMIT to God – search your heart for hidden sin.
RESIST the devil – reject the lies of Satan.
Do these things and harmony will come to you.
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight . . . I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
James 4:1-7 “1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
4You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us[b]? 6But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
7 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Prayer: “Heavenly Father, as we continue this Lenten journey, we come before You with humble hearts. Help us to return to You with sincerity, to seek You more deeply, and to live lives that reflect Your grace. May this season of Lent draw us closer to You and prepare us for the joy of Easter. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
