DECEMBER MISSION OF THE MONTH – Salvation Army
The Sal Army is an international movement, an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Their vision is to be a place where people of all ages live in safe and sustainable communities, in which differences are respected, and people are empowered to learn, work, and worship in freedom.
FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH, MISSION – Benevolence Fund – Benevolence is the desire to help someone or a feeling of goodwill toward others. It can be monetary, to help those in need. Often it is used to aid families with unexpected or high medical expenses, victim of natural disasters, the unemployed, the underemployed and others in similar circumstances. Thank you for your generous gifts.
Meal and a Movie – Wednesday, Dec 13 – Meal and Movie will meet from Noon-1:30 PM. The movie this week is titled, I Heard the Bells. It’s a heartwarming, true story of Henry Wordsworth Longfellow and his writing of the Christmas carol, “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”. Karen has seen the trailer. It’s really well done. NOTE: A sign up sheet is in the kitchen if you want to bring a meal to share!

All year-end donations must be postmarked, or physically be at the church by December 31. Any donations, even PRE-dated, cannot be accepted after December 31. If mailed, I would appreciate if checks could be received even BEFORE December 31. If you are having a donation sent from a Financial Institution, be aware that they do not always note the name of the giver. If you have authorized a year end donation, please let me know.
