Memory Verse –  Acts 1:8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

“The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him”  – Habakkuk 2:20
Each Sunday morning, the Prayer Team invites those who wish to pray before the service to come to the library at 10:30 AM to have a quiet time of praying and preparing your hearts to worship the Lord.

Pastor will be on vacation August 15-21. Michael Ireland will be our guest speaker on August 20. Karen Bosshart will moderate the service.

OUR NEW START TIME – Effective August 6, Minnewashta Church will be meeting at a new time! Bible Study will be held at 9:45 in the Library. Our worship service will change to 10:45. There will still be fellowship and coffee following the service at 11:45. If you have any questions about this change, please contact Pastor Grant.

PRAYER CALENDAR – The August  prayer calendar is on the table in the narthex. Please help yourself! This is a new format.

AUGUST MISSION OF THE MONTH is MN Adult & Teen Challenge
Their mission is to assist men, women and teens in gaining freedom from chemical addictions and other life-controlling problems by addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Effective and affordable programs are offered throughout Minnesota with campuses in Minneapolis, Brainerd, Duluth, Rochester and Buffalo. They have a broad spectrum of treatment and recovery programs: Outpatient (Telehealth and in-person). Licensed Residential (30-90 days). Long Term Recovery Program (12 months). Teen Residential (6-12 months) and Ongoing Recovery and Alumni Services, allowing to effectively serve individuals with a broad spectrum of addiction issues… from those seeking treatment for the first time, to those who have been struggling with addiction for many years.

Their Core Values: COMPASSION. HONOR. RESPECT. INTEGRITY. SERVANTHOOD. TRUST.

Please give generously to this important mission of our church. FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH, MISSION – Benevolence Fund: Benevolence is the desire to help someone or a feeling of goodwill toward others. It can be monetary, to help those in need. Often it is used to aid families with unexpected or high medical expenses, victims of natural disasters, the unemployed, the underemployed and others in similar circumstances. Thank you for your generous gift.

TECHNICAL AND SOUND: Immediate need for Sunday, August 27 and we are looking to add one or two people to our soundboard team. If you are interested or know of anyone that is skilled in this area, please call the office. This is a PAID position. See Pastor Grant if you can assist in this area. Thanks to Gil and Chuck who add so much to our worship time. Please lift Chuck up in prayer as he moves to Kentucky!

FOOD SHELF:
Please remember to give generously to the Food Shelf. There are shelves in the front hall to the right of the door, to place the items for community members in need.

TUESDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP: Thank you
to Grant and Debra for hosting Summer Fellowship nights! Evening Fellowship will resume in the fall.

Each Thursday – Men’s Lunch and Bible Study – Noon-1:00 PM in the Church Library. Lead by Dana Nelson.

Please sign up for coffee/treats (on the clipboard in the kitchen), for after-service fellowship.

If you have an item for the announcements, please get it to the church office by NOON on Wednesday each week. Thank you.
